Training courses

CDES is a training school in the law, economics, and management of sport. The training centre started in 1980 and was designed and set up with the French and international sports movement.

The identity of the school is rooted in:

• The existence of five courses leading to qualifications;

• The arrangements for selecting candidates and the teaching methods that strive to discover the candidates’ personalities and to allow those who are successful to reveal their true abilities;

• The personalised follow-up of students;

• The teachers and students upholding the principles of integrity, loyalty, and solidarity;

• Continuous consideration of the development of the courses and their educational content in relation to the stakeholders and the development of the labour market;

• The strength and continuity of the intellectual and welcoming activities of the graduate association (ADDES).

The first specialised training course in the law and economics of sport (D.E.S.S.) in France and Europe was created as early as 1984. In cooperation with national and international sports institutions, CDES experts anticipated the professional developments in sport and offered training courses that the sports institutions would naturally closely be involved in implementing as stakeholders. These training courses are:

• Innovative, because the daily involvement of permanent or casual CDES colleagues in sports institutions makes it possible to anticipate the needs of organisations and those involved in sport. Each of these courses is unique, as their content is regularly modified in order to be consistent with any change in the sports sector.

• Guided by the desire to ensure an individual and personalised follow-up of the participants with, moreover, support for the students trained for a successful integration into the world of work (max. 20 students per group).

• Dynamic and interactive in the content provided. The courses offer theoretical content, complemented by practical testimonies and contributions.

• Immersed in the sports sector with sessions (themed seminars) organised in different sports institutions, as well as with other private and public actors involved in sport.

• Intended for real fans of sport, leisure and competition who are dynamically involved in sport, as well as other public and private actors that advocate the values of loyalty, integrity and solidarity.

The courses that have been developed are part of a partnership and contractual approach with sports institutions.
